The Challenge

In Tanzania, a staggering 40% of vegetables go to waste annually, resulting in a dire economic catastrophe. That's 250,000 metric tonnes of precious produce ending up in landfills, causing a loss of 26 billion TZS for dedicated vegetable vendors. The environmental toll is equally alarming, contributing to 8% of greenhouse gas emissions. The ones most affected are the women relying on vegetable sales.

Our Solution

Enter Freshpack – a game-changer in vegetable preservation. Our patented smart fabric technology, inspired by the human body's cooling system, absorbs water from perishable items, transforming it into vapor. This creates a cooling effect that maintains freshness, nutritional value, and extends shelf life. Our technology is 6% cooler than ambient air, addressing not only economic challenges but also aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and Goal 13 (Climate Action).
